Third time is the charm. This was my third time coming to Button's Bluff near Buchanan, Virginia and my first time seeing a train. Here the James River makes a large horseshoe in the valley. The CSX James River sub crosses over the river here and enters into a small tunnel before heading to Buchanan on the way to Balcony Falls and Lynchburg. In the days of PSR on this line I have seen many CSX trains with only one engine or one on the lead and one DPU as seen here.
