After a long trip across Canada on The Canadian, our first stop back in the US was at Edmonds, WA on BNSF's Scenic Subdivision. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by a crowd of people lining the right-of-way. I remember asking someone what was going on...he looked at me strangely and thought I was kidding. Once I explained our itinerary, and how we had just arrived in Edmonds by random chance, he replied "SP 4449 on BNSF's Employee Appreciation Special". Well wasn't that just an amazing bit of timing on our part. The end result is seen here. Not bad, considering the circumstances. It might have been a better shot from the sunny side along Puget Sound, but we take what we can get.
