One damp evening in February 1975 a colorful group of F units gathered at the turntable at BN's Seattle Interbay roundhouse. Former GN F45s, BN 6006 and 6000 mate up, flanked by Amtrak SDP40F (early style) no. 531 and an older F7. The F45s were in mainline freight service while the 531 could be found on the Empire Biulder or North Coast Hiawatha, or even the Coast Starlight. Those F45s would be pulling passengers after the 531 got early retirement due to derailment issues the SDP40s had.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
