A few months ago, the Housatonic Railroad set two of their locomotives, GP7u #22, and GP35 #3604 to Pan Am for some work they could not complete in house. In an extraordinarily rare event, Pan Am returned the 3604 to the Housatonic RR by running it under its own power from Waterbury to Derby Jct, on the Metro North Waterbury Branch. The Waterbury is shut down right now for some maintanance, so the move was able to get underway at around 8pm, earlier than the usual 1am window after the last commuter trains have made their way to Waterbury. Here we see HRRC 3604 strolling through the Ansonia, CT station. It was quite interesting to see this locomotive under power out of its natural habitat, where its been for almost 30 years
