Remarks & Notes |
Amtrak's Southwest Chief slowly crests the summit of Glorieta Pass as it approaches the western control point of Glorieta. The steep grades within this siding would make it a less than ideal place to stop a heavy freight train. It is no wonder why BNSF has rerouted all normal freight operations away from this route for the last 15 years. Amtrak 13 west would experience a slight delay while waiting for a late #4. From there, it would be westbound and down the rollercoaster of a railroad, known as the Glorieta Subdivision. |
