Remarks & Notes |
Burlington Northern SD9 6107 and SD9 6114 are seen switching Bridge Yard in downtown Duluth May 1975. SD7/9s were pretty uncommon for switching duties in Duluth on the BN. These six axle EMD roadswitchers were more at home in Superior while EMD NW2, SW1200 and SW1000s were common switching power in Duluth during the 70s BN era. By 1973 the NP Alco switchers were retired and replaced by NW2 and SW1000s, so seeing BN SD9s switching in Duluth was definitely worth taking a photograph. J. David Ingles Photo from my collection. |
