“Sans Dome” Skirting past the rock face at Relay is B&O bay window caboose 903729, bringing up the rear of an Old Main Line coal drag destined for the Curtis Bay piers. Still in (now faded) Enchantment Blue, the former B&O C3729 was built in 04/1971 by International Car, and is C&O/B&O unified class C-26. There’s some very faint lines in that yellow circle, but I sure can’t fathom a Capitol Dome out of them. On the bright side, at least it didn’t have a kitten on it yet (and probably never did, since it was retired in 02/1986, less than 3 months after the photograph).
The head end of this train is depicted in photo 662531.
