Remarks & Notes

The NKP 587 in happier times, doubleheading with NW 1218 toward the Southern Loops and Asheville in the summer of 1989. The engine has recently been moved in pieces from its long-time home in Indiana to Ravenna, Kentucky, for future restoration.
