| I made friends with the farmer that owns the land around MP 11 on the Marquette Hill. There are some cool views from the fields as the railroad curves all over to keep the grade as the railroad drops into the Mississippi River Valley at Marquette. Here a Mason City to Marquette freight train has the dynamics and the air brakes working to hold the tonnage back on this 1% grade. The railroad swings damn near from a south direction to northeast direction in this monster curve at MP 11.
