January 26th, a friend and I found ourselves in Conneaut, with the expectation of 867 leading south in just about perfect light. Upon arrival to Conneaut, it was confirmed that the 867 would be leading South. Boy, what a day it ended up being. Here, the train takes a pause, waiting for the Conductor who is en-route from the ore docks. NS made an appearance, however slightly different, a faded UP General Electric motor was in charge of the Eastbound mixed freight, making for a slightly different over/under meet.
Coal and steel don't go bad. This album features long, slow, heavy freight trains; drag freights, slop freights, dead freights, etc. Trains with lots of power, and lots of different cargo slogging along behind.
