SP 8538 East, a hot intermodal train headed for the Southland, roars out of tunnel 10 as it clims the steep grade toward the summit. The rest of its train is still negotiating the Loop. This tunnel is now gone, part of a project to combine the sidings at Walong and Marcel to give the dispatcher increased flexibility.
