| NS 211 was one of many trains to detour over the Port Reading Secondary on this day. The detours were necessitated by the derailment of CSX Q404 the day before on the Lehigh Line in Union, NJ. It is fortunate that Conrail has this alternate route available, however the secondary is single tracked which did cause quite a bit of a delay as the daily fleet of NS and CSX east and westbounds had to "wait it out" at each end of the detour route. The first snowfall of the season has blanketed the area in white. |
