| This photo is from a postcard size glass negative by the late John Macartney Robbins who died in 1953. It shows an ancient Ouest Railway tank locomotive built by Buddicom of Rouen in 1844 during a group visit by the Stephenson Locomotive Society in 1910 - probably the first such visit by an English railway society. The loco may have started life as a tender loco like No 33 in the National Railway Museum at Mulhouse which was converted back from a tank engine in 1945. |
