Remarks & Notes

The 2nd-to-last E-44 (built July, 1963) heads west on the Enola Branch, with a friendly wave from the fireman. Note the graffiti-free manifest trailing behind. Conrail will rebuild this line a year after this photo, replacing the old PRR jointed-rail with welded rail.
