This was the every day scene back then, and this was my favorite scene... Amtrak trains were mostly Phase IV, but a fair amount of Phase III was still left. The Heritage coaches are former Clocker coaches that were repurposed as coaches for the Adirondack. A few would regularly make their way onto other trains, and the crews preferred their trusty dutch doors in the winter opposed to the pocket doors of Amfleet cars.
The GE Genesis series are well known for being Amtrak's locomotive. With confirmation of retirement from Amtrak themselves, their time is limited. Now is your chance to catch them before the chargers arrive!
