AEM-7 in a Blizzard
This will probably be the last winter season for the dwindling fleet of AEM-7s on Amtrak's roster. So it was very nice to see 919 leading Northeast Regional train 195 through the heart of a major winter storm. In this view 195 was running only a few minutes late, but the train would eventually arrive in Washington, DC about an hour and a half late. This is not bad considering the blizzard conditions that were encountered during most of the trip. Heavy winds caused the ripples of drifting snow that can be seen across all four tracks at this location. |
