The normal local and road power has all been shepherded onto one track at the Southern’s enginehouse in Alexandria, Virginia to make room for visiting dignitaries. Savannah and Atlanta 4-6-2 750 and a pair of FP7 helpers are in town for Alexandria – Front Royal excursions, while N&W 611 will pull trips to Charlottesville the next weekend. Later, the two steamers will doublehead south to Richmond on the RF&P for the NRHS convention.
Selected photos of locomotives, passenger cars, and rolling stock in the Southern's livery as well as other assets once belonging to or used by the Southern.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
