In really nice springtime weather, the crew of Union Pacific’s LJP45 “dirt train” has lunch at the Valdez Drive-In at East Carbon, Utah, on May 4, 2004. As food is prepared, a couple of locals discuss who-knows-what, as most of the crew enjoys burgers and fries outside on a picnic table, while the four locomotives wait patiently across the street. The crew of LJP45 almost always took the power light up to East Carbon near the track warrant limits of mile 14.5 for a bite to eat in the middle of the day.
