One of the small handful of high hood SD40-2s remaining on the NS system sits in Gainesville until it's needed by local trains which will start running again during the week. Most of these units are assigned to hump jobs inside major yards in the Northern Region, but this one has thankfully escaped and wandered its way onto the Greenville District.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
