L&N runthroughs initiated in the early 1970s brought a little color to the West Point Route. Power was mostly GP38s and U23Bs with other B-Bs mixed in. In this shot, a portion of Auburn University's unloading trestle is visible at the left margin, as is a boxcar at AU's warehouse.
Photos taken in the Deep South--primarily Alabama and Georgia--from the 1970s to the early 2000s. Featured railroads include the ICG, the West Point Route, SCL, Southern, Frisco, and even KCS.
