Following a periodic 92-day inspection performed at the Knoxville Locomotive Works, Knoxville & Holston River Railroad (KXHR) SW1500 #1504 sits under a colorful evening sky awaiting to be put back into revenue service the following day. Engine 1504 was built in 1969 by EMD for the Alton & Southern Railway and served for several decades in the greater St. Louis, MO area before being acquired by the Gulf & Ohio in 2006. Forty four years after delivery #1504 engine currently operates on the KXHR moving freight in the metro Knoxville area. Photo by Chris Starnes / Gulf & Ohio Railways.
From a hint of "Bee" (NKP 765), colorful "Bees" (KCS), "Bees" w/ "attitude", to "Bees" that "sting" your eyes, in their own way they have "Bee" on display! Equipment that "Buzzes" with Yellow & Black colors! ("Bees" can still "Bee" entering this "hive"!)
An attempt to put the best picture of engines that represent each of America's railroads. When a better picture of an engine/type is found, it will be added.
