Alco A-B-B units accelerate with train 76, CALIFORNIA SPECIAL on their way to Lubbock and eventually Temple, TX. This train was comprised of some cars picked up from the SAN FRANCISCO CHIEF in Clovis. The big Alcos could be troublesome but they could really fly.
