Although most of the leaves are off of the trees in eastern Iowa due to recent wind and rain, I was surprised to find quite a lot of vibrant fall foliage along the protected east facing bluffs along the Mississippi River. Here, a manifest train that would soon be departing for Chicago was doing some switching. It briefly stopped and posed so I could take a photo at a 40th of a second, as the sun had already descended behind the bluffs. ICE 6428, the City of Albert Lea, was the lead engine.
