| In an effort to add more life to their remaining EMD SD45-2 locomotives, BNSF rebuilt eleven into what they call an "SD40-2R." They have 3000 HP, 16-cylinder 645 engines. The program was cancelled due to the recession, but more SD45-2's are stored just in case the carrier decides to build more. BNSF 7954 was the former BNSF 6509 and ATSF 5860. |
