Remarks & Notes |
A southbound company work train heads toward Portage on a fabulous Saturday. The train is seen popping out of the trees along the Seward Highway as it flanks the Chugach Range along the southern half of the ARR main. The lead GP40-2 is configured and painted exactly as she was when delivered by EMD in 1976 to the then federally owned ARR. However, sister 3010 trailing has been modified with the addition of an HEP generator and a new long hood end to hose the attendant equipment. She also sports the current ARR livery. |
