There are few places in this country where a steam engine pulling wooden coaches doesn't look out of place. This is one of them. Here, open farmland, simple wooden barns and even horse-drawn carriages are the norm rather than the exception. Here, the people don't spend their time on the internet and they don't complain about the coal smoke. Yes, in many ways, the march of time has left Lancaster County, Pennsylvania behind. And the folks here....why they're OK with that.
