Thurmond was railfan headquarters in WV. The town’s main street was the railroad. This location offered mainline freights and several mine runs to MT Hope and Fayetteville. The engine house was long enough for two sets of four unit power. Off to the right you can see the Post Office, a small metal building with the American flag beside it |
