Nearing its layover stop at West Colton, the UP 844 steam special rolls through Redlands at the west end of San Timoteo Canyon.
After stopping to repair a steam whistle in nearby Loma Linda, the UP 844 finally arrives West Colton where it will layover for a day of public display before continuing home to Cheyenne, Wyoming.
UP 844 heads for the yard as it approaches Pepper Ave.
With some assistance being provided by the diesel helper, UP 844 steams up the grade through Cabazon located on the eastern slope of Beaumont Hill.
