BNSF's transfer from Grand Forks, ND to Superior, WI crosses over Highway 2 about 4 miles outside of Grand Rapids, MN while heading east down the BNSF Lakes sub.

After passing through Grand Rapids, MN BNSF 251 and 252 continue east on the BNSF Lakes sub passing over the Prairie river with their manifest train in tow.
