The first of 3 southbound trains came across the BNSF Frisco Mississippi River Bridge with BNSF 6826 leading and BNSF 4714 trailing on a beautiful but crisp morning.
These NS pigs are always pretty short between Meridian and New Orleans, so getting up to track speed is no steep task at all. Here, he was doing all of 60mph coming into Purvis.
UP 5131 followed by 2 other UP units led NS 355 south towards New Orleans, but were held up at the Amtrak Depot in Laurel while A59 sat out 90 frack sand cars.
