Looking west at the Clinton Local tied down at 5th Street.

On a crisp Spring morning, we find a Herzog Ballast Train tied down in the siding at Le Claire.

IC&E 6412, a red bomber, and 2 grey CITX motors are on the point on 486-28 getting ready to make a set-out. Meanwhile if you look over the top of train, you can see a second 486 in the distance.

One can only wish that the approaching train is led by a Milwaukee Road engine in 2009 on this ex-Milwaukee Road line. ICE 6457 leads DM&E train 170 south towards Marquette, IA.

ICE 6439 completes some switching and slowly begins to move into town.

A nice trio of blue & yellow SD40-2's (ICE 6217, DME 6082, and ICE 6422) leads an ethanol train eastbound through the S-curve just east of Kimmell, IN.

Minutes before 7AM train 170 approaches CK with a classy blue and yellow trio, and 30 cars.

The one pure DME/ICE blue lashup out of 6 trains in 2 days on the ICE was this one about to make the turn at CP Lake to head over the big river to Savanna.

Pleasent suprise on a "K" Ethanol Train. Rounding the bend into St. Joe on the CSX line the Blue and Yellow of the Iowa, Chicago and Eastern light up as they head straight into the morning sun.

Looks as if CP never took over. 2 IC&E SD40-2's head 171 for Saint Paul on a beautiful Saturday afternoon.

A Herzog ballast train plies it's way down the Mississippi on the DM&E Davenport Sub in preperation for a tie and surfacing project.

Chasing 637 out to 41st Ave. allowed for a totally unexpected meet. As I pulled up I noticed a 487 tied down on the CK siding, with IC&E 6412 on the lead. Sure made for some great shots of 2 beaut... (more)
