The Santa Train prepares to depart the Nelsonville Depot with a beautiful blanket of snow.
The snow plow was built by Russell Car & Snow Plow Co. in May of 1946 for the New York Central System as No. 625. With only a dusting of snow on the ground, I don't think it will be used today.
Originally built by EMD for Illinois Central in December 1957 as GP9 No. 9307, this old "geep" has now found a home in OH.
This years Santa Train featured classic EMD power on both ends. Thanks Santa!
THis ex- C&O GP7 pulls under the old coaling tower as the conductor spots the train to couple. Today it will head the HVSRY Santa Train.
B&W suits this photo just fine. It makes it look as if this photo was taken in the 50's when this diesel unit was new.
An ex-C&O "Geep" in original colors awaits passengers for a Santa train. The unit is used on the Hocking Valley Scenic Railway in Ohio.
After a hard day at work former Chesapeake & Ohio GP-7#5833 is posing for railfans and other photographers by the water column.
