Standing in the rain, watching 6 locomotives (3 more on the rear) and 100 loads of coal grind up the 2+ percent grade over the town of Covel. A nice way to spend National Train Day.

On an unseasonably cool afternoon, with the fog still lingering on the mountain tops, Eastbound loads of coal cross the 111 year old Sewell Bridge deep in the New River Gorge.

Notch 8 and a cloud of smoke. BB 3 heads East with 11 loads of salt before sunrise.
