9998 will go into the paint shop to have about 6 layers of Amtrak paint blasted off, then return to the shop for much needed body work.
GE electric switcher built in 1917 and used at the C&O locomotive shop in Huntington, WV, with the proud crew. This unit has since been sent to the B&O Railroad Museum in Baltimore, Maryland.
What's left of 8417 is hauled off by Mansbach Metals for scrap. Locomotive was scrapped on site in about 8 hours.
C&O 4617 sits at the west entrance to HLS with a weed spray train.
