The coaling tower at Prichard continues to stand proud as it is a reminder of when steam ruled the rails.

The sun peaks out just long enough for me to catch this train with a new ES40 in the lead.

NS 18M turns onto the Red Key Line along side L-42 from the Marion Branch to let a north bound 174 run through.

A new year snow and cold spell along the Pokey greet 18M as it exits Glen Alum Tunnel.

18M rolls pass the westbound signals at War Eagle.

18M passes the vintage N&W signals at "Old Joe". Within a few minutes, 18M will meet its westbound counterpart, 17M.

NS 18M rolls eastbound under the signal bridge at Hull on main #2 to avoid a coal traffic jam at Iaeger on the #1 main.

A late morning time freight is "movin-on" as it rounds the bend at Wharncliffe. What a beautiful sound it made.

Stranger in a strange land. It was unusual to see a UP unit knock down N&W CPL's. The train is having trouble getting back underway on the steep grade after stopping under the classic N&W CPL's.
