Leading the SB train off the WSSB from Winston Salem. It almost always had an NW unit. I had come from CA recently and decided NC was liveable, after a trip to Hamlet.

I was scanning my collection of WP slides and happened on my very favorite rain shot so here it is. This is a westbound freight and the weather outside is frightful.

Just across the line from Utah for my first time, I found Nevada welcoming, with two units in perfect sun.

Looking good after many years and enjoying a distinguished retirement.

I think it's an eastbound. Doesn't matter, it's looking good and the sky is blue in July, who could ask for more.

I lived in the area for four years and never, ever found a GE 4-axle on the front of a train. I come back on short business trip and guess what!

Looking a bit worse for wear but still elegant this special unit is leading an EB coal train on double track just east of the division point.

Still unrebuilt and tattered this old soldier is still putting a good day's work.
