Interesting unit from diesel spotters standpoint. Modern frame would indicate GP-40 but it was in fact a late GP35, built on Alco trucks for GM&O, was on ICG, then a VMV demonstrator, etc. Still... (more)

Obviously of SP heritage this de’turbo’d GP35R is enjoying a somewhat less hectic life.
A former SP or SSW GP35R redone without a turbo and painted up in University of Alabama colors really looks good.

Not my first choice for shortline power, but at least they're both in decent, 'true' Helm Leasing paint returning west with the Lake City Daytime Switcher.
