The amazing thing of the late night/early morning coastal fog and clouds (June Gloom) is that it can be thick fog just a mile west of bright sun.
Just for kicks, the Torrey Pines Golf Course is two miles south of here. However, it's not accessible by train and is on the bluffs of La Jolla.
