FEC 703 and FEC 411 lead a rather short FEC 103 train south across Crane Creek bridge in downtown Melbourne, Florida. It is always nice to see an all EMD consist leading a FEC train.
Train 103 passes thru a brief window of sunshine on a rainy day in Florida.
The Geometry train heads north as the typical afternoon thunderstorms move in.
The annual or sometimes bi annual Geometry train made an appearance today. It was great seeing one of FEC's little champs.
FEC gets it done, instead of running two trains you can combine them into one. One transformer and more rail for Virgin Trains USA heading south.
FEC ran a rail train added a transformer load to it as well.. FEC does things efficiently.
After running the lead up to the Port of Everglades, the FEC 703 and NS research train have backed out to the mainline and are back up to track speed as they fly under the Fort Lauderdale Internat... (more)
Was surprised by this business extra today. I missed the prized shot in Bunnell, but was lucky as a crew change happened between here and there allowing me to catch up.
3000th accepted into the database! The universe saw fit for this to happen where I starting shooting trains over 30 years ago with one of my fav FEC motors. FEC Geometry extra.
FEC Port Job
FEC ran a 141 extra today, with two EMD's leading, something fairly rare these days.
Four locomotives landed on 226 today, seen here approaching the tidewater in St. Augustine. The Champion scheme is very popular with fans.
A double rarity, FEC 226 with two champs, with a long hood forward leader and about 4-5 hours late on the normally on time FEC. Suspect one motor failed and they had to swap.
FEC 226 is lead by two champs on this spectacular morning in the Nation's oldest city.
121 races south through West Palm Beach.
