In service for 25 years, 222XX series WAP-4 held by ARAKKONAM shed, still in pristine condition, entering Thiruvananthapuram city

Even though WAP-4 work as single powering unit, some sheds have added cables and port for WAP-4 to work as multiple units with freight trains

Once rare visitor

Once rare visitor to Kerala, VALSAD WAP-4 have now become regular visitor with electrification of Konkan region

After traction conversion, BHUSAVAL WAP-4 #22307 is the first WAP-4, I spotted in Konkan area, powering Jan Shatabdi Express

With WAP-7 & LHB carriages getting prominence, sighting WAP-4 & ICF carriages, the old style consist, is very nostalgic !!!

As sunset started, it was time for me to leave one of the beautiful and calm trainspotting location after clicking Kottayam Intercity Express

Contrasting colors

Red color of ARAKKONAM WAP-4 was making a beautiful contrast with blue sky, lush greenery and cream colored carriages

Late start by 8 hours was blessing in disguise as it is impossible to spot this train around my area in the early morning in dim light
