Just after sunrise, the 4021 (ex-SOU/NS) is seen kicking cars at Franklin Minerals' limestone mine and processing plant in Crab Orchard.
A pair of FIMX B23-7's build their train at the companies Crab Orchard plant. Also visible is the plant switcher 45 tonner as well as former NS 3999, used for parts.
The engineer on the 4023 quickly accelerates to get in the clear as the 4021 makes a move to add 4 more cars to the outbound train that the 4023 will soon take to the NS interchange at Rockwood.
With the days work done, the crew moves their power to the shop building on the right. The 3999 in the background provides spare parts to help keep the 4021 and the two other B23-7’s in service.
