In Minot on a pleasant day (!) I caught the "Empire Builder" but I've forgotten which direction it was going. An even better catch was a visit to the tower at the SOO line crossing.

A 4 hour late Empire Builder preparing to pull from Miniot.
In town on business (why else, LOL) I did have a great day of railfanning and caught a green barn on rails. I was also there in February. August is better.
The eastbound JY local crosses one of the "prairie potholes" of central North Dakota on a causeway just east of the small town of Sanborn.
Some prairie wildflowers sway in the breeze as a westbound stack train crosses the Sheyenne River valley and Lake Ashtabula on the former Great Northern bridge between Luverne and Karnak, ND.
The sun sets over the North Dakota prairie as a veteran EMD leads its train into Fargo. These late November skies are sure a treat when the sun cooperates!
