After setting out cars it's back to track speed.

Passing a MILW Depot the arch is over line that went to Austin,MN and was the original line to St Paul,MN before the River Sub was in.
The DM&E Plow extra is stopped at Calmar to check over the plow and get a bite to eat. This crew is working on the Mason City Sub today between Mason City and Marquette to flange and widen drifts.... (more)
Last winters snow and wind was an everyday chore till it got above 32 and crusted over. The ICE ( DME ) ran a Russell plow to nock back the drifts and keep them from getting to big.
Digging hard at about 8MPH on a 1.8% Calmar Hill, It gets lit well in the Summer AM
After getting some paperwork at the depot at Calmar, this coal extra is back on the move. Smoke pours out of these 40's as they work on getting this 98 car coal train back up to speed before start... (more)

A KCS "Bullet Train" with 1 AC4400CW and 2 SD40-2s lug 69 loads up the Calmar Hill and barely make it.
