G97823 works it way into Shelby Yard after its trip from Russell, Ky.

23G rolls east out of the sunset, and through the Virginia countryside on it run to Norfolk, Va. Shot from Va. route 460.

After holding for switch problems at Beech Creek and 35 min. stop at the Cedar Welcome Center ;), NS 185 blasts west out of Hatfield tunnel on Track 1 headed for Williamson, WV and points beyond.

NS 9769 leads a coal train downgrade through Oakvale on the former Virginian mainline.

8823 Still dressed in blue, makes it way around the Northwest Connection track at F tower in Fostoria, Ohio. The train is leaving former C&O trackage and heading west on the former B&O.

ATSF 6381 leads a stack train through Rock Creek Junction and onto the connection with the Transon line overhead. Things have really changed here in the last 14 years.

CSX F723, the Hopewell Turn, operating out of Acca Yard during this time period, heads south towards Hopewell. The solid former Chessie power was nice to see.
