With the installation of the new passing siding at Fort Montgomery the old NYC searchlight signals are a thing of the past. Here Q429 is framed by them heading south in a patch of sunlight.

Q429 crosses the Westfield River & starts climbing Washington Hill after stalling at MP 128. Trailing 70 MAC 4701 broke and was repaired after an hour. Two GP40s were pushing.
