Jacobite morning run to Mallaig with "Black Five" 4-6-0 locomotive # 45407 over the classic Glenfinnan viaduct

The sun emerged for less than a minute, shining directly on the impressive Glenfinnan Viaduct as the Jacobite steamed over it on its way from Fort William to Mallaig in the Scottish Highlands.

The Jacobite steam train does not look the slightest bit out of place running through the ancient-looking landscapes of the Scottish Highlands on this cold and damp May afternoon.

The foreboding mountains surround Loch Morar loom in the distance as The Jacobite steam train covers the last few miles on its journey to the coastal town of Mallaig on the western highlands line.

The Jacobite puts on a show as it cross the trestle over the inlet stream of a coastal loch on its run to Mallaig. Far beyond the bridge is the North Atlantic Ocean.
