Amtrak 500 leads the Desert Wind westbound on the Santa Fe south track towards Cajon Summit, while up above, a Southern Pacific westbound train has stopped in the siding at Hiland.

The inbound Desert Wind coasts to a stop at Pasadena Station. The number on the right side of the engine adjacent to the headlight looks like a stenciled replacement.

The Desert Wind makes its way along the Los Angeles River about a mile from Union Station.
