On loan from the Mid Continent Railway Museum, Ten Wheeler #1385 leads a special west across the CNW mainline in Iowa.

CNW R-1 no. 1385 provides a tender view at the Mid-Continent Railroad Museum at North Freedom, WI in August 1973. The engine was operable at this time.

CNW 1385, an R-1 4-6-0, was nicely restored and in operating condition at the Mid-Continent Railway Museum back in August 1973.

1385 crests the hill at a MCRY weekend event in the summer of 1974. Soon she'll return to the high iron with 21st century renovation.

CNW 1385 departs the Butler, WI yard with a trainload of passengers attending Butler RR days in June of 1984. The steam engine is slowly being rebuilt and will hopefully see action again.

CNW 1385 has a short, good looking train in tow as it rolls thru the countryside near Eden, WI in the Summer of 1985.

CNW 1385 is the only example of their R-1 class engine surviving. Built in March 1907 it was one of 325 R-1s acquired between 1901-1908. Retired in 1956, it was purchased by the Historical Society... (more)
