Late spring finds the creeks full from the melting snow as an eastbound BNSF manifest train exercises its trackage rights to Denver.
A short walk down from the highway gets you to the east side of Tunnel 29 on the UP Moffat Road line. BNSF has trackage rights over this former DRG&W line and runs several trains a day each way.
Ship by rail is the theme of this photograph.
Dennison Depot's "tank engine" sits with a string of vintage freight cars, as a father and son carefully inspect the "train". The rainbow above is a nice touch, too.
