When I saw a whisp of smoke coming from the U28B's, I thought one was being fired up for service. Unfortunately it was the scrapper's torch ending the life of another U-Boat.
once part of the backbone of TTI's locomotive fleet, this U28B spends its final days in the deadline being stripped of parts and eventually be cut up for scrap. As of late 2008 only 2 or 3 U28B's ... (more)

Same brakeman different railroad. Conrail is in the startup mode and many freights have units from four different fallen flags in the consist.
5 U boats on any road in the late 80s was a treat for a GE fan.
